That’s why they all end up at Erin’s house. He is the blue tang retirement home. @Kensington ReeferTbh I feel like you can get one as a PIF most of the time due to everyone not realizing their tank is under 200 gallons and rehoming it.
Oh Boy. You just opened a can of worms Sammeer. Where’s my brother from a different mother.I see Biota as more of a shop for Captive Bred fish that are hard to care for when caught in the wild.. like Blue streak wrasse, Mandarin Goby and of course Yellow Tangs! I feel even wild caught Blue tangs do well in our reefs, so would not personally ever buy those from Biota

I totally understand the ethical part of it, but personally, I would only buy fish 2x their wild caught counterparts only if they have a better chance of surviving vs the wild caught ones.. I know Blue tang is prone to diseases, but the one I have has seen ich, flukes, hypo in 4 months it has been with me and still is a fat beautiful fish.. Again, personal opinion, and I completely understand why anybody would think differentlyHmmmmmm
Got ethical reefing
Buy the farmed fish, leave the wild ones on the reef!

I AM the TANG POLICE
I speak for the fish: they don’t ask to be in our boxes of water
At least that’s my interpretation
