Friend’s tank crash

Hi everyone! I’m sorta new here, I’ve been around on the facebook pages but finally got a chance to join the BARs club. This week I helped a good friend of mine transfer her 75g tank from her old house to her new house. The move went smoothly so we thought but the following day was a nightmare for her to wake up to. All her lps and sps were dying if not already gone. We matched all the parameters from the old tank and kept the same rock structure/par and used new sand but same filter media for the bacteria. Along with the amount of corals she lost, she also lost her yellow tang. With the move money is tight and she was thinking of just breaking the tank down but I couldn’t let that happen! I offered her as many of my pieces as I had to start the rebuild to give her hope, the hobby is already so niche and having friends to talk to this stuff about helps so much. Im hoping to help her out by posting here and asking the community for any coral donations or cheap frags for her to recoup. She lost all her hammers and torches, neon green candy canes, acans, birds nest, and some other sps. Getting any of these again or similar corals would be awesome. These were corals she had since they were just a tiny frag with 1-2 heads so its been brutal losing them all. Here are some before and after pics, it’s not pretty. We’d be grateful for any help!

Man, that sucks! I agree with @Coral reefer, have her join as supporting member and be part of the community, there are a lot of folks who be willing to help.

Creating a journal would help too, I know if I give someone a coral I like to see how it is doing.

Where is the tank located? I have some easy SPS I can frag.

She’s in Stockton but we travel to the bay for coral adventures often. She’s not really savvy with posting and the pages but I’ll get her to try! Lol

Hey everyone, I just made an account! I’m the one who’s going through this tank crash

Welcome, and sorry about your losses. Tank moves can be tricky.

As suggested above, become a (club) supporting member, like your friend, and we, the club, will support you.

Once you have done that, feel free to reach out and I can share a few frags with you - if Walnut Creek is not too far for you.
