Dang. I just went through the same thing. It sure is heartbreaking. I’m really sorry that you’re going through this.
Yes, it's pretty disappointing.Dang. I just went through the same thing. It sure is heartbreaking. I’m really sorry that you’re going through this.
do you just put in rinsed Poly fil directly in the baffle or do you put it in a permeable bag, always heard its a cheap easy solution but was never sure, thinking of doing the same thing for my sump.Neither, I shove some poly fil between a baffle and call it done. Pretty old school I guess but a big bag of polyfil costs me about 15 bucks and last a year.
It's all 3/4 cross and euro braced both top and bottom.
The plastic lip on top is completely cosmetic.
Thanks,do you just put in rinsed Poly fil directly in the baffle or do you put it in a permeable bag, always heard its a cheap easy solution but was never sure, thinking of doing the same thing for my sump.
btw your tank is amazing thank you so much for sharing, I know in a few months when things get back on track your tank will be absolutely stunning!
My crash was a chain reaction. Some how I killed my bio during my transfer. Once it started collapsing. It has to run its course. I tried to save what I could. I lost 95% of my fish and most of my sps. Unfortunately. It happens. I did take precautions.@Cilyjr @Turkeysammich What causes it? Were rhe fish just stressed?
I can try, I think I mentioned that the only local store in my area is closing down. Over the years. I have developed a pretty good rapport with the owner. All of these high-end chalices came from him, with the idea that when he sets up his personal tank in a few months, he's building a new house, I will give him frags of everything. He's sort of coral banking I guess because he doesn't have the time to set something up right now.

I will have to get the names from him. I know a couple of them.

My clams. For those interested, Maxima clams do not like being plopped in the sand bed. They want to be firmly attached to the rock nestled in between your coral! Derasa are the opposite. They want to be in the sand and their byssal are barely attached. Maximas will stay put while Derasa will ”wander" a little bit.
I thought you can’t eradicate uronema. Cuz it lives on detritus2 more weeks until the end of the fallow period.
Things are seeming better, the 8 urchins and my electric toothbrush are holding the line. I did a chemi-clean treatment and left the lights off for 2 days. Which I always do when I use chemi-clean. The UV really breaks down the erythromycin. That seemed to beat back the lyngbya and red cyanobacteria.
I've been dosing 50 ml of H2O2 twice a day for the last month to hopefully take out uronema.
