Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

Dang. I just went through the same thing. It sure is heartbreaking. I’m really sorry that you’re going through this.
Yes, it's pretty disappointing.
And when one does a tank xfer one relies on the inhabitants to help with all the nuisance issues that arise. Since I don't have that it's me, a toothbrush, 8 urchins, and many snails.

Well All the remaining fish are looking pretty happy and healthy and are gobbling up food laced with Metro! Another 3 days of that and then they will be patiently waiting for the fallow period to end. Then they can finally get back into a reef!

On a side note, the sale of my 320 gallon fell through. Disappointing. Now. I guess I'm going to clean it up and list it again.

Neither, I shove some poly fil between a baffle and call it done. Pretty old school I guess but a big bag of polyfil costs me about 15 bucks and last a year.

It's all 3/4 cross and euro braced both top and bottom.
The plastic lip on top is completely cosmetic.
do you just put in rinsed Poly fil directly in the baffle or do you put it in a permeable bag, always heard its a cheap easy solution but was never sure, thinking of doing the same thing for my sump.

btw your tank is amazing thank you so much for sharing, I know in a few months when things get back on track your tank will be absolutely stunning!

Thanks,

I took some screen material and looped it in the baffle about halfway down. So the polyfill won't keep pushing down to the bottom. I don't even bother rinsing it. I just squish it in there directly from the bag. And then once a week I pulled that out, throw it out and squish a new handful in there

I'm sure I had Cryptocaryon irritants and uronema existing in the tank for several years.

I don't know why I didn't have an issue when everything went from the 320 to the holding tub. For some reason it decided to wait until it went into the 470 display. It's unfortunate because had it happened in the tub initially, I would have been faster to act and would not be in a follow. Right now.

I like chalice corals but always feel like they took up too much room. Even in the 320. But while I'm waiting for my fish to get back, I have grabbed a few and put them into this display. Here's some random pictures.

@Cilyjr @Turkeysammich What causes it? Were rhe fish just stressed?
My crash was a chain reaction. Some how I killed my bio during my transfer. Once it started collapsing. It has to run its course. I tried to save what I could. I lost 95% of my fish and most of my sps. Unfortunately. It happens. I did take precautions.

Can you amend the chalice pics with names?
Sorry to be a PITA
I can try, I think I mentioned that the only local store in my area is closing down. Over the years. I have developed a pretty good rapport with the owner. All of these high-end chalices came from him, with the idea that when he sets up his personal tank in a few months, he's building a new house, I will give him frags of everything. He's sort of coral banking I guess because he doesn't have the time to set something up right now.

I will have to get the names from him. I know a couple of them.

These images were edited a little bit but mostly just brought the contrast up.
