Rinse them with a water bleach solution, drain and rinse again. Let them air dry or if you prefer under the sun to do a quick dry, keep an eye on them. Sun's UV rays breaks down the plastic and cracks easily.

Mike is right. Magnets are not meant to be left in the tank/water as something might get stuck in between or a tiny critter that has a hard shell might make it a home. MagFloat magnets are weak in comparison to Algae Free but the large one might be a good fit. I’m nit sure if I still have a...

I think I have a Mighty Magnet that you're welcome to try; it doesn't have a scraper blade but has some scrubbing pads.

I'm not a snake/reptile person but those critters make you fall in love with them; hopefully @Corallus will show some of his pets.
