Challenges in removing chloramine in RODI setup

Its not necessarily a tank topic, more an equipment concern - I am not seeing a positve test on my post DI water, only post RO. I am using the test kit below, but the fact that an 11 USD test decides that I should be buy a 300 USD+ filter concerns me. So as mentioned above, if anyone knows a...

Challenges in removing chloramine in RODI setup

I turned back to being a meat eater haha—just joking. The vouchers are still available; I’m simply waiting for the right moment to pull them out again :).

Challenges in removing chloramine in RODI setup

That was my question - good to know - not sure if as effective though, but I did not like the 20 inch size.

Challenges in removing chloramine in RODI setup

Certainly a monster price, but removing chloramine properly seems to bigger issue, so that folks are willing to pay that much money for it. I might end up buying such a thing if needed. Thanks for sharing.

    Lego tank.

We are / were massive lego fans, and still have quite a lot in the house (slowly phasing out). I do like almost all of their sets, specifically the bigger ones. However, this one does not look good. Almost bad, actually. Shocking, and I wonder who consulted them. The Petco-style treasure chest...

Challenges in removing chloramine in RODI setup

@ReyDeFarts - special shout-out to Andy for being so patient with all of my questions in the past few days. We agreed that I would reach out to Chris aka the H2O guru to get his thoughts on how this issue can be resolved. if anyone has a recommendation for another chloramine test, please let...

Challenges in removing chloramine in RODI setup

I wanted to tag on this topic here: https://www.bareefers.org/forum/threads/rodi-system-recommendations-and-considerations-and-which-ones-not-to-buy.38013/ But then I thought it might deserve its own thread. I am currently working on solving the following issue: I am testing positive for...

    Activated carbon (GAC) quality differences

Thanks for sharing. I heard that this is a moonshiner thing to use CAC. I thought there was a difference between DOC and SAC? My SAC was between n.d and 0.4 previously, so not a problem I am trying to fix. But more surprisingly, Salem recommends in this article three times the amount of CAC...

    Activated carbon (GAC) quality differences

The high quality pellets that Polyplab and Fauna sell are better IMO, same higher quality and break less. Potentially the same product that Erin recommended but I cannot confirm.

    Activated carbon (GAC) quality differences

I am a fan of pelletized carbon such as the one you recommended. Would not buy any other at this point. Unfortunately, they do not seem to sell to individuals, and their online seller went out of business...:(.

    Activated carbon (GAC) quality differences

Ordered the last copy earlier today. 26 years old though, before ICP was developed I believe. Still, I like these type of books. Thanks for recommending :).

    Activated carbon (GAC) quality differences

This is the response from Premium Aquatics after reaching out to their ‘manufacturer’. Looks like it was cross-contaminated with GFO, a plausible explanation. Good Morning Alexander, I greatly apologize about the delay, I finally heard back from the manufacturer last night, and they believe...

    Henergizer’s 25 Lagoon

Welcome. Starting a journal is an excellent first step. Looks like you got your ALK and CA in order, but I would also check on MG, depending on the salt you are using. At least in the beginning. Also happy to donate corals so you can (actively) attend the swap.

Diving straight in - Sameer's Waterbox Infinia 230.6 build thread

Big project, with lots of things to plan for and learn from. What happened to these fish exactly? ‘Anthias and purple gramma couldn't make it past the fish sitting period’?

What are you currently using for testing, and do you plan to upgrade? A pole!

Exactly my experience. Fast and accurate. I wish all tests were like that.

What are you currently using for testing, and do you plan to upgrade? A pole!

The Hanna CA is a pain though from what I remember - reminds me to sell mine - and the Salifert spot on or super close almost every single time when compared to ICP.
