Do you have a TDS meter? I live in SF and have seen tap water range from 20TDS to 80TDS. You should test the filtered water from the Safeway machines too just to know what you're using.

Looking at tank related costs on a monthly basis can be scary. Glad you're downgrading to the 12g instead of getting out entirely.

Changed my mind, I'll go for the 3rd frag if it's not taken. If TLC entails keeping up water quality and spot feeding like I already enjoy doing with my candycanes, then I'm up for it.
