Here's where I was pointed to that thread.

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

Scrolling through humble fish. It's not necessarily a guarantee. But I'm hitting it pretty hard with hydrogen peroxide a couple times a day for a good solid month. You have to do more at first. https://humble.fish/community/threads/peroxide-h2o2-dosing-for-parasites-in-reef-tank.725/

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

2 more weeks until the end of the fallow period. Things are seeming better, the 8 urchins and my electric toothbrush are holding the line. I did a chemi-clean treatment and left the lights off for 2 days. Which I always do when I use chemi-clean. The UV really breaks down the erythromycin. That...

My clams. For those interested, Maxima clams do not like being plopped in the sand bed. They want to be firmly attached to the rock nestled in between your coral! Derasa are the opposite. They want to be in the sand and their byssal are barely attached. Maximas will stay put while Derasa will...

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

I can try, I think I mentioned that the only local store in my area is closing down. Over the years. I have developed a pretty good rapport with the owner. All of these high-end chalices came from him, with the idea that when he sets up his personal tank in a few months, he's building a new...

Here is a walkthrough of the shed. The music was a funny choice. I really don't like my own voice when played back

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

I like chalice corals but always feel like they took up too much room. Even in the 320. But while I'm waiting for my fish to get back, I have grabbed a few and put them into this display. Here's some random pictures.

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

I'm sure I had Cryptocaryon irritants and uronema existing in the tank for several years. I don't know why I didn't have an issue when everything went from the 320 to the holding tub. For some reason it decided to wait until it went into the 470 display. It's unfortunate because had it...

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

Thanks, I took some screen material and looped it in the baffle about halfway down. So the polyfill won't keep pushing down to the bottom. I don't even bother rinsing it. I just squish it in there directly from the bag. And then once a week I pulled that out, throw it out and squish a new...

Need a copperband that's eating prepared foods?

Wow, what are the odds one can be added to my order that I will be making the first week of January?

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

Well All the remaining fish are looking pretty happy and healthy and are gobbling up food laced with Metro! Another 3 days of that and then they will be patiently waiting for the fallow period to end. Then they can finally get back into a reef! On a side note, the sale of my 320 gallon fell...

    Coral ID

I think oddly shaped pectina as well. Actually I think both are pectina

    Plumbing question

True, but I think the volume that he's looking for would require a very expensive peristaltic pump. The cheap ones are mostly for dosing a few milliliters at a time.

    Plumbing question

You are not going to get the pressure needed from a pump designed to go with a 1 inch outlet reducing it to 1/4 inch. All you'll get is an impeller spinning in a chamber with a ton of back pressure which will eventually break the pump. They make pressure pumps that will push more water through...

    What’s Your Favorite Sand?

Nope, it came from an ocean beach near me, I used it for years. My main reason for switching back to a white sand was for more reflective light. That stuff is pretty dark. It does kind of look like fresh water gravel, but it is much finer

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

Yes, it's pretty disappointing. And when one does a tank xfer one relies on the inhabitants to help with all the nuisance issues that arise. Since I don't have that it's me, a toothbrush, 8 urchins, and many snails.

    What’s Your Favorite Sand?

I has always used tropic Eden meso flake. But for the last 5 years or so I used a local feldspar sand that looks like this. It is a nice large grain (2 to 3 mm) so it was slow to shift and was a cool color. Wrasses were fine with it. What I found is that Nassarius snails did not seem to like...

    Cilyjr's 470 gallon display

Just coral, clams, snails and urchins. The surviving fish just went through to opper in a separate holding tank, and started metro on Sat.

Well last night I sucked out as much cyano as I could, and dumped in 50 scoops of chemi clean, light out today and hopefully that will push down the cyano back to manageable.

    105, 3years on a road of bones

Sure me too, in fact, I have six along the back wall of my aquarium. Still though the trick is the amount of space between the flow point of the pump and coral. And as those corals grow out, the dead spots start to happen. I'm just curious how people are dealing with that
