Are you checking ammonia and nitrites?

The water won't have ammonia but definitely nitrates. I don't see how this could hurt.

No you need to dose just alk. Sodium carbonate.

Dosing alk will make the calcium precipitate out. Automatically dropping Ca.

Simply increasing your alk will drop of Ca.

They do make small ervs that look like a bathroom vent.

IDK about cfs but I have been using the same T5 bulbs for 4 years now.

I've done this before and it does work.

Those look like the aiptasia I have in my tank. Luckily my fish have taken care of it. I do have a bunch in the sump though. I'm not sure if it's something you want to spread around.
