    Free easy frags

Checking to see if any of the frags are still available. I am new to the hobby and currently have a 100 gal mixed reef tank. Do you think the Rainbow Pocci and Red Monti would work out in a mixed reef?

    Glenn's Red Sea Max S 500

Finally caught my coral munching Pigmy Angle last Wednesday. Had him for over a year, but in the past few months he decided he liked to cruse by and nip at corals. My first attempts to catch him using a net were futile. I finally purchased a fish trap. Placed it in the tank for a few days...

    Glenn's Red Sea Max S 500

I got these sample results several weeks ago but forgot to post an update. In general I would say these agreed pretty well with each other. No surprises and no significant differences between the two. I would say using either one of these services would provide you with reliable results. Let...

    Glenn's Red Sea Max S 500

Added UV sterilizer to system yesterday. I installed a 25W Aqua Ultraviolet unit. Connected it to a 1600 gph pump. Used 3/4 inch plumbing since that was the standard I/O for the sterilizer. Also installed a 1inch flow sensor from Neptune. Flow is much less than I expected. Wide open it's...

    Help Fragging Toadstool

Thinking of fragging this Toadstool. I've never fragged anything before. I want to separate the one on the left by cutting it off at the base where it connects to the primary growth/trunk. I understand you can put a toothpick through the base of the frag, perpendicular to the trunk and tie it...

Welcome! I've only been the hobby for a little over a year. I have also become an addict. This is a great site for info and guidance as needed!

    Anyone...

Haven't been there yet, but I'm also interested in them. I did check out 360 Coral in San Jose last week, but I was a bit under whelmed. Large warehouse. I think he is still trying to stock up a bit. No prices marked on anything. He does have both fish and coral.

My UV installation plan certainly isn't the best, but it's about all I can do with my setup. How long have you been using UV? What is the power rating of your lamp and which tank do you have it on 100 or 180. Do you think it's worth the $$? It looks like an Aqua Ultraviolet unit. Those are...

    Need a little help...

As I noted, I'm new to the reefing hobby. I'm not currently running UV, but I've been looking into it. I have limited space and plumbing options, so I am thinking of placing the appropriate size pump early in my sump. As close to the overflow as I can get. Maybe in/near the sock area. Then...

I looked at their website. They appear to offer 3 different ICP packages. Their least expensive option, Set S, does not specifically state that it has "Free Shipping". The two more expensive options Set M and L specifically state that they do have "Free Shipping". If you purchased option Set...

I used ATI and Triton for my ICP analysis last month. Both included the prepaid sample mailing label. Results are made available on line. Who did you use for your ICP test?

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I believe the concern is that generally the wiper is connected to a metal rod that could deteriorate over time and add unwanted metals to your tank. They said that the sterilizers with the wipers are meant for freshwater tanks. Mistake number 19...

I am new to reefing (just over 1 year) but I noticed your UV sterilizer appears to have a wiper. I just watched a BRS video where they specifically advise against using a sterilizer with a wiper on a salt tank. May or may not be an issue for you, but thought I'd mention it.
