AI-based Management of Aquarium stuff is crazy cool [Hydros, EcoFlow, ReefBeat, HomeAssistant]

I mostly copy and paste, I've had too many bad experiences with giving Ai direct control lol. I have been expanding my Home Assistant capabilities. I found a jebao integration repo for their smart pumps. Unlike the apex integration, this one is actual control instead of just read-only

AI-based Management of Aquarium stuff is crazy cool [Hydros, EcoFlow, ReefBeat, HomeAssistant]

There is a service to access apex functions and telemetry in Home Assistant (mine runs on a raspberry pi 5). That part took 30 sec to setup.

AI-based Management of Aquarium stuff is crazy cool [Hydros, EcoFlow, ReefBeat, HomeAssistant]

IIt gets better. I have an nvidia jetson nano super that has a couple of different 7B parameter LLM Models on it. It can boot specific models at HA request. The HA "assist" on my network is run by the llm, who has access to entities for control and analysis and building AI Tools (repetitive work...

    Modesto LFS

I stopped in the other day and asked if he had plans in stocking some reef tank consumables, like t5 bulbs. He seems like he is still catching up and corals isn't something he is very familiar with. We talked a little about me helping set up a reef display to attract customers so it's sounds a...

    I'm back!

I haven't heard of that fish before. I'll have to look into it. Thanks.

    I'm back!

All the fish are fat and happy. The tank is on an auto feeder and I still put sheets of nori in a couple times a week. I have dumped in pods and phyto a couple times. The mandarin is still chunky and happy. If I didn't have bristle worms, I would dump a bunch of nudi in and let them work. Most...

    I'm back!

Well. My tank has been running on neglect tech for over a year. I have a new job and some new changes that have helped me dig myself out of the depressed hole I've been in and I find myself wanting to put more effort into the tank again. I leaned the glass for the first time in probably 4...

    Let's get beefy!

Rich is my reefing hero lol. I remember when he ordered one of my 3d prints on ebay and I messaged him, like a creep, asking if it was "THE Rich Ross?" lol

Does anyone make 3D printed frag racks to hang on glass?

He's trying to give me a hard time for calling someone out on his Facebook group for asking the same question. Some people are just salty like that.

Does anyone make 3D printed frag racks to hang on glass?

$23 Hanging or Magnetic* You supply the magnets. I HIGHLY recommend professionally epoxied magnets.

Does anyone make 3D printed frag racks to hang on glass?

Rimless tank? Rimmed? Euro braced? I make some vertical frag racks and I can adjust them to fit your tank if you want.

I have been using this test kit for years and I never thought to put the sample over the color box. I feel really dumb.

    Tank reseal recommmendation

A lot of large glass aquariums are assembled in home so that's not the hard part. The resurfacing is a lot of work by hand. Now if you can talk a glass shop into leasing their tools/shop to you after hours, you might save a lot of time and still be cheaper than a new aquarium.

    Tank reseal recommmendation

I went down this rabbit hole many years ago. What I gathered: 1. Silicone bonds to glass at a molecular level. Even when you have a seam separating, there is still a layer of silicone on both glass surfaces. 2. Silicone doesn't stick to itself (new silicone on previous silicone) as well as...

    Removing large toadstool leather

The best way for the animal is to take the chunk of rock out. Hopefully it's something you can chip off. They are not like an aneome attachment. Anemones have be mobile slowly. The toadstool attachment is about as permanent as you can get without building a skeleton. Think of a mycelium...
