To swap the sump, need to drain tank.

Thought you had an external overflow? So you just need to drain down a few to expose the return nozzles.
Or your sump can't handle the excess water?

Yes acrylic. The corners are round. Thanks for the tip.

The sump sits on top of 4 pieces of 20x2x.25" thick acrylic that don't cover the whole bottom. I should have not skimp out. Going to add more acrylic to the bottom. Its a bad design.

That is correct. Or cut a leg.

Elevated the tray to dry the floor.

Haven't made any changes.

Elevated the sump, filled 3" water. Leak test. Been 30 minutes, everything is dry.

Suggestions?

Are you sure it was leaking from the bottom?

Look and feel everywhere for salt or water from a leak. So many possible sources. Could it even be from somewhere other than the sump?
