ABC Reagents, just A reagent?

I’ve been using ABC Reagents for my Triton. One of the things I like about them is they would sell ABC packs but also A or B/C separately. Very handy since I use more A than B/C (test 4x as often).

Now they (he) decided to distribute through CoralVue rather than sell direct for the pre-made bottles, they are more widely available but apparently got rid of the A-only option. CoralVue confirmed (ABC reagent guy hasn’t responded). He still sells 2-gallons worth of A-only concentrate on his site. Good price but high shipping, too much reagent for 1 person just to balance out the imbalance of use.

Does anyone know if someone sells just A reagent in bottles? Or maybe I should buy the 2-gallon thing and sell off the extra?

Or maybe I could sell off the unused B/C bottles and buy another ABC pack?

Anyone interested in the above scenarios?

I test alkalinity 4 times a day and Ca/Mg once a day

That's funny, because I have the opposite problem. I have an extra mixture to make a gallon of A because I am lower on my B/C reagents. Stock testing schedule.

I can send you my mixture if you don't find one local.

Even the 6 month supply has seemed to have jumped in price by $20 of recent. Bah.

Test alk daily 2x and all others 1x a day. Not sure if testing more alk per day gets me anything more.

I should cut down my Ca/Mg testing as well like you. But then I'd be in the same situation as you.

Not a bad idea, I will look into this too. So long as you are testing once a day, it should keep the lines wet. And if John is doing it, it works.
