Are Rubber Bands Reef-Safe?

I recently got an AquaticLife Mini Skimmer for my BioCube 29 HQI, but the pieces with the suction cups that holds the skimmer together won't fit in the filter chamber. The skimmer is cut in half and those pieces hold it together, however it sorta stays together on it's own, but some bubbles still escape. I want to hold it together more tightly with rubber bands, so my question is, are rubber bands reef-safe?

Thanks in advance! :)

for the most part. They degrade failry quickly. I wouldn't worry about them.

I would use Rescue Tape...

+1. I got some rescue tape at MACNA and that stuff is awesome! One of the best tapes I've ever used. I think it's only sold by one guy who runs his business, I doubt it's at hardware stores. Maybe he'll be at Baymac....?

I'll go to a hardware tonight and get some Rescue Tape if they have it. Thanks for the quick response. :)

If you come to the meeting this weekend I will bring you some.

While it may not be at every hardware store, it is widely distributed.. says an Authorized Distributed (Reed Mariculture). Ggogle Rescue tape, tons of sources will come up :D
