check your imported fish food

This has been an ongoing adventure for the last few years in aquaculture. Nothing new really :( We've been selling a TON of Otohime just because it's 100% not Chinese sourced products. Luckily the Japanese and Chinese don't mix all that well, especially in the Aquaculture world.

Does Melamine fall from the sky there?

"Hey, melamine is our number one resource, what should we do with it?"
"Put it in dog and cat food!"
"oh, they noticed, recall it"
"Put it in milk so our BABIES can drink it"
"Oh, they noticed, recall it"
"Um, how about in fish food?"
"Oh, someone noticed, recall it"
"Um, how about ...."

What they should do is put melamine in their lead and vice versa, then no-one will complain.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out the Olympic medals were made with lead and melamine.

Where do you find stuff Made in US?? Almost every freaking thing Made in China or some other countries. Even US car isn't made in US.. We try to buy food that is not made in China and it's almost next to impossible.
 
For starter, buy Japanese cars as the mostly are made here in the US :)

I can tell you Omega-1 is US made fish food. We source no products from China as well :)

It's not all Chinese factories. Companies like Sera own their won plant and control it 100%. They have very strict QC with intensive testing at all levels. Most major MO brands have control like this.

You don't hear about it alot but many US feed producers test all incoming feeds and products. The melamine laced stuff gets dumped, and typically it doesn't hit the news. I read about them all the time in the AC magazines I read :)

It's easy to find human food not from China and I shop at all the little import shops :) Korean and Japanese are pretty damn safe :)

My truck was made in Smyrna Delaware ({s}lower Delaware as the northerners say)
 
My car was made right here in the bay area at the NUMI plant :D

Melamine pretty much does fall from the sky in China. It's a byproduct of plastics manufacturing.
 
The other day I was in a japanese supermarket and thrift store.. In the thrift store at least 80 percent of the products were produced in china.. At teh supermarket at least 70% of the candy and cookies with a japanese theme were produced in china... IS nothing safe !!! :)

Wow :( Traditional you'd be safe from Chinese stuff at a Japanese store. Times have changed :(
 
Yikes, a couple years back I had a Korean girl and a Japanese girl in my physics class and every week they'd bring me some sort of tasty Japanese/Korean snack... I personally loved the Pocci sticks :D
