Covid-19 tank #2 : IM 75G

Started Covid-19 tank #1 at start of pandemic and as the usual progression goes built the 75G with intention of consolidating with the 75 but now want to keep both!

Anyway current pic of 75G. It’s a work in progress!

I want to hear how you feel about your Redsea Skimmer and your ACN (auto neck cleaner) please! Any other thoughts you have on your sump equipment I would like to hear too.

Love the skimmer, varios 2 skimmer pump and avast neck cleaner and not pictured Davey Jones skimate locker. The skimmer is well constructed, pump is a quiet and vary reliable DC pump, the avast neck swabbie is also dead quiet and the skimate locker is required because I travel up to a week to attend Ironman events. My only nit and a small one is the skimmer is conical so the neck swabbie misses about and inch on the bottom part but not big deal because I clean the pump and skimmer every month or two.

Wow! We need more pics of that scape!
The tanks evolving and fairly new (3 month). I’ve been slowly moving corals from my year old 25 lagoon plus slowly collecting pieces from fellow local hobbyists.
I’m running 3 old XR30 gen 3 radion lights. One has diffuser and order two more. Flow is two mp40qd with one (currently) gyre.

For the 75 I made decision no fake rock (more another day on that) and rock is Tonga Branch and Balini. I acid washed the rock, bleached for seven days, left in sun for another week, then motared together and placed in tank to cure with no lights for 1.5 months. I used fritz turbo 900 bacteria to start cycle. I sawed with diamond bit the bottom so the ‘mushroom’ would stand straight and on top of black plexiglass square just because.

None of the corals are cemented in yet and still moving them to find best flow/light have even moved a few back to the 25G. It was going to just SPS but my wife is helping me out the best coral with best shape in the best places so there are several LPS. I honestly would never think to add the space invader pectina but now it is one of my favorite because of the color and looks like flower petals.

I have some nice SPS frags in 25G that I don’t trust to transfer yet and will probably wait another 3-6 months to do so. Most of what’s in there now are tough corals.

I only use BRS two part and monthly /bimonthly water changes. I could on the magic of fish poo for nutrients.

I have coral beauty pair, five anthias and one yellow eye tang. Feeding small portions twice per day.

Here are some pics

I bought five lyretail anthias females from aquatic collection, because they didn’t have any alpha males, and sure enough one month later the dominate female changed color and became the alpha male. Amazing.
