Mine didn't grow at all in red. That makes sense in that they color of a plant is based on light reflecting off it. Green plants don't really use green light. Red plants don't really use red light.

I switched to a coral color light and it started growing.

Most “red” fuge and grow lights are a mixture of red and violet, some blues or uv sprinkled in. It might grow, but not well

I still have this actively growing, takes up half of my large refugium and is outcompeting chaeto down there. I certainly have it available to share if anyone is interested.

I’ve also started feeding it to my fish on a nori clip and my tangs especially like grazing on it. Seems like a great way to recycle nutrients in the tank while keeping them well fed. I can’t tell if their poop is more sparkly than usual though.
