I was only there for the cutting. Took the potato-shaped rock and cut under each shroom. Raj took them home after that
The ones I have aren't a part of the chain - I guess I could join, but they're going to be distributed here and there (or at events) rather than searching for takers. School's getting busy recently so organizing extra meetups doesn't fit in my schedule
I've been thinking about this a bit over the weekend and will chat with
@derek_SR about how we want DBTC to work with regards to chain creator's rules vs. program rules. Also, a
reminder to all members to pass things on only when the recipients meet the chain creator's rules. Note #5 by
@Baykes :
"This is a new rule for this DBTC, in order to receive a frag, you must have had participated in the clubs DBTC program by (1) having started a DBTC of your own or (2) have participated in and have given back twice in other DBTC chains."
@Raj Gill technically shouldn't have received the shrooms in the first place and still needs a tank journal to qualify for most DBTCs. (Please create one when you get a chance!) Same goes for the next link
@N2Nano Reefing 408 .
Also it's probably a good idea in the future for other new hobbyists to attend a fragging workshop before attempting to cut corals intended to be passed on to others. Clearly mistakes were made, and I'm guessing with the lack of updates, they're probably not in good shape still.
We're ultimately the stewards of the animals we keep and the goal of the club (and DBTC) is education and ethical propagation of marine life, not just free corals. Albeit, there are often tons of non-DBTC items up for grabs for beginners to test out too before they attempt any chains
