Dynoflagelates(sp?)

So who's got experience? Having an outbreak of brown strandlike algae, think it's Dynoflagelates. Nutrient problem? Anything eat it? Water changes and manual removal? Will gfo or carbon help? Thanks!

I had an outbreak a couple of months ago and treated it with 20% WC bi/weekly for around 3 weeks My phosphates never tested crazy so i didnt consider GFO.

Its still in there, but only in isolated spots. I'm interested in hearing what advice bar has on this.

I had this problem several months ago. A couple of days of no light, plus siphoning/water changes really helped the DF disappear.

I've had it before and water changes seemed to all but rid me of it, but it's back, so just wondering what the underlying problem is?

try turning out the lights for 3 days.
What is your current lighting and schedule?

I run my halides for 5 hours a day. No more.
