Elephant Ear Mushroom ???

I have had a green elephant ear mushroom in my tank now for about a month. I cant get it to open up and expand. It's color looks great and it is in a low flow area. Any ideas on why it wont open? As I am typing this I am also seeing a correlation that my rics and yumas are not fully expanded either. What make mushrooms not want to expand?
 
Most Rics like lower light and I've found elephant ears to not be too light demanding as well. Bear in mind that elephant ears are fish eaters, I watched one take down a large damsel a few years back.
