Fed Rod's food and a bunch of LPS died

To be clear the recommendation is not to feed in the first 6 months of captivity, then a lot of people recommend feeding only cooked food after. He mentioned Ali as the "gigfather", so I'm guessing that's Ali that will be on the Reefbum podcast tonight, maybe we can ask questions in the YouTube chat?

Despite this, it's sad to see the number of nems killed in the thread. Then some random typical forum arguing later lol.

This was an interesting read.

I too think I'm in the bad batch of rods category and this thread kinda solidifies that a bit for me.

About 2 months ago I got an awesome supernova nem from @RandyC and it was doing amazing. Decided to feed it something special so I picked up some rods which I normally don’t feed often. Fed than nem real fat and for the last 2 weeks it’s just been off.

Stopped feeding/doubled up the tank maintenance and it’s feeling a bit better now. But what was odd is I could not find anything wrong with the system and after reading these comments the rods went quickly into the trash bin.

Same for me, but a different run of it I believe.

Not trying to start a which hunt or attack on Rod's, just has been a very weird correlation. I am very very confident I've had repeated torch issues correlated with feeding this, and other LPS issues. In retrospect I should've considered it wasn't shrimp issues but could've been this.

I almost threw out the rest of my bag, but I put it back in the freezer. I may see if I can get a cheap torch somewhere, acclimate it into my isolation tank, and then do a broadcast feed of this and see what happens.

The only thing I could think is maybe the batch went bad due to a dethawing?

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. If so, let's discuss off thread where you bought it. @finalphaze987 and I got it from the same place, so I'm wondering if there's any weird correlation to that.

Any updates? I need to order food again and curious if anyone went with the gamma foods. Did you switch @RandyC ?
