If two identical shots were taken, one with a FF body, and another with a crop body, would there be a difference in the quality of the bokeh?
Assume, the same subject, focus points, lens, aperture, etc.
Is it due to the idea that on a crop body @ 18 mm, you'd actually be shooting at 29 mm in 35 mm format? Where as on a FF, you would be shooting at 30 mm?
Dude Eric, you and Art are just a plethora of information, and knowledge! Love it!
I hope to be like this someday!
It's almost akin to moving your subject matter further away from the background (separation of subject from background), producing a creamier bokeh.
The rest of it comes from the size of the photosite as well as the density.
Lastly, this one doesn't have to do w/the sensor on the body, lens construction and blade counts also affect bokeh. The 85mm f/1.2 has a smoother bokeh vs. the 85mm f/1.4 or the f/1.8 due to the blade count and orientation (the rest is due to the type of glass used).
