High Tide Aquatics

Float Valve/Switch

I am using Digital Aquatics Float Switch and the float switch keeps getting stuck. Does anyone have any recommendation on good float switches?

I should have been more clear. The ATO system is working fine. Only the switches in the sump that are getting stuck, unable to move up and down. Does anyone know a good way to clean them? I was looking the auto top off.com float switches, they look pretty solid. I might be considering them.

Best float switches IME (we go through dozens every couple months) are made by Madison.

I never really have to clean mine in my home tank. It's been running for 5 years with zero issues. it has a built in guard so animals can't hold it down or up :)

FWIW the link above this post (aquahub) is the one I use, it's a Madison with the guard.

That's what I use at home. We use the same one with out a guard at RMI.

I got one that has a pressure sensitive switch, similar to those of the Avast Skimmate Lockers. Really simple but nice unit.
At home I have the autotopoff.com unit, double switch.

By definition that is not a "float switch" but rather a "pressure sensitive switch" :D

 Oops, guess I should have said I have one of the pressure switches too as a side note.
Anyway the ATO dot com works wonders !
My concern was IF the main float fails... (I have an Aquamedic ATO that failed) so I went with the dot com thing and love it; now the next is to plan on a float switch to kill the ATO pump when the reservoir is empty, would be like new year's resolution but not this year !
