Picked up my frag and I love this coral already! Thank you @The_Lazy_Reefer for letting me see and learn about your beautiful tank! So many interesting things going on in there and tales of the fish and corals. You have such happy and healthy fish!

Frag moved into our big reef tank Friday night (Jan 31):

I picked up the coral yesterday. These are some really great pieces to be growing out, mine has atleast 70 polyps! Super hard to count though. Thanks @The_Lazy_Reefer for the frag!
Oy! My Aqua class will meet their alveopora tomorrow and I will have students attempt to count polyps. How did you count them all? If you pick it up do they retract?

I took some pics and counted, was almost easier with them extended. Compared to a goniopora it likes staying extended when messed with, I tried to use a turkey baster to get it to retract in the tank today to help count and it really wanted to stay extended. Taking it out of the water is what will guarantee it retracting though. Definitely can tell its less temperamental than a goniopora though.

March entry, looks like over 60 polyps now...
Full extension, then both sides with polyps retracted.
