I want to work with fire

Ethanol
NuSalt (KCl) -purple
Table salt (NaCl) -orange
Copper treatment (Cupric sulfate?) -green
Reef salt, maybe

What color would Epsom salt burn? Magnesium sulfate ... white? Or clear?

cheap denatured alcohol is good. It should only have ~5% water in it. Dont get rubbing alcohol (isopropanol). It usually has ~ 30% water.

Anthony you may also try doing random things like throwing cinnamon powder or zesting an orange into the flame. Anything that has a lot of surface area. It makes fireworks...just be careful and don't overdo it!

When I bartended we did random things like soaking cherries, lemon slices, etc in 151 for a couple minutes and then light them....I think it just burned blue but it may make for an interesting shot.

citris rinds rock. Get a fresh and firm skim, then fold it into the flame. The oils squirt out and give a neet fire burst (probably from the limonol)

What about freezing Sterno or shaping Sterno into fake ice cubes?

http://www.sterno.com/pro/sternopro.html

It's a flammable gel used in catering/food prep/etc

You know those little cans with fire coming out of them you see under buffets and such? That can be them :)

I think it's blue? To be honest it's been a while, it may be clear
