Nice yellowtail and cab (that's what those are, right?). And how deep were you guys, that you could be slinging jigs from spinners. The last time I went out for rockfish was years ago out of Monterey and we were doing 100+ fishing.
We were fishing about 120ft.. 4ounces with spectra could get you to the bottom on a long cast.. The first pic is an Olive Rockfish.. The pic of the two fish with the spinning rod is a smaller yellowtail and vermillion rockfish. No cabbies that day I had one a couple weeks ago about 10lbs... The surge was crazy that day coming out of the harbor.. We were getting tossed all over on the way out.. Just another day out of HMB.. I can't belive those 2 guys that capsized turned in towards the bouy when it was that jacka--....
If they reopened the deep water I'd be up at Cordell fishing the 500+ foot stuff..
I wish I could fish the canyon again, nothing like that anywhere Dang, now your making miss the good ol deck hand days HUGE vermillions, I mean MASSIVE

Awww man I thought you'd be out there paddling in on the heaviest paddle in day ever surfed.

Where were you out at is the question? I know you got wet that day

Around the bluff that's in last two pictures, I didn't last very long , tucked my tail between my legs went somewhere else to pull into beachbreak closeouts.
That's one reason I moved back to the West Coast, stupid East Coast surf season, it sucks crunching through snow to get a couple of waves, plus all of that vaseline on your face feels funny...
