Cali Kid Corals

low light coarls

i have 2 eclipse one systems on my 45 they have the 50/50 coarlife 28w retrofit any sujestions on hardy stock that will work with my lighting ??? ???

so 56 watts power compact over a 45 gallon? I wouldn't try any photosynthetic coral with that low of light. Perhaps something non photosythetic like a sun coral (which you would have to manually feed).

About the only thing that MAY survive (and by survive, it might mean slowly die off) would be things like mushrooms, zoas and maybe some leathers.

how tall is the tank? a couple 28 watt bulbs could do it if it wasn't too high.

Mushrooms could easily work in it however, I know Steve at Lucky Ocean has mushrooms and some other polyps in his little penta/hex tank that has a 9w bulb over it

They'll grow, at least most of the one's I mentioned will. Make sure you add Reef Nutrition Products, brought to you by Reed Mariculture, you'd be surprised.

Think of it this way, no way are you going to bleach 'em.
