magnesium chloride (brs brand) in place of magnesium chloride ?

. I wanted to ask if I can use magnesium chloride (brs brand) in place of magnesium chloride hexahydrate. My understanding is .magnesium chloride hexahydrate is chemically produced in a lab, in contrast to the magnesium chloride which is harvested directly from seawater.
