Montipora Toenails?

I have had this monti in my tank for a month. There was this toenail like thing poking out when I got the coral and slowly it has grown. Any ideas on what this could be? Should I be worried? Not having much luck googling up anything.

Hard to tell from the picture. Is it green and soft? Looks like it could potentially be Ulva Lactuta (Sea lettuce).

It is flexible but not what I would call soft. The rack those montis are on gets direct blast from my pumps and it does not seem to move. It can bend when touched. Scared to cut this off in case it is somehow part of the coral.

Edit: yeah the pictures are not great, will try for better ones tomorrow with a real camera. The coral in question is the furthest back.
