RedSea has agreed to replace my RedSea Reefer 525 G2 since its seams are failing. They are sending a Reefer 525 G3—the display tank portion only. The display tank is 275 pounds. I need help swapping out the display tank. The old tank will need be placed in a large Yellow Sack on the front curb for disposal (RedSea does not allow me to sell or give away the failing tank so I have to arrange for disposal). I assume this is a 3 person job so I need two volunteers?

I am available anytime Friday afternoon / evening or anytime this weekend. I will remove all rocks, sand and livestock ahead of time and put them into temporary holding containers. I will also drain the display tank. I will pick up or purchase suction cups from someone ahead of time (I also already have 4 but need 2 more).

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If it's Sunday after 12pm count me in

The club has cups you can borrow. Not sure who currently has them but there are two sets small and larger either would work.

Thanks Michael. I appreciate it! Hopefully we can do it Sunday then. I will look into the suction cups. The large ones are way far out in Tracy, CA. Will see if the smaller ones are nearer. If not then I will pick another pair up.

Replacement tank has arrived. If someone else is available this Sunday after 12pm please let me know. Right now it is @MichaelB and me :)

I can try to make it if nothing else comes up @Slingfox.. Will confirm closer to the date, so anybody else who is available, please don't hesitate to take the 3rd spot in which case I can join in as the 4th member to help :)

I sincerely appreciate it. I will try to make sure everything is ready ahead of time to make the process as efficient as possible

Thank you to @MichaelB @divewsharks @spuri87 for coming over to help swap out my failing G2 RedSea tank with a G3 tank supplied under warranty. The tank swap went very smoothly! Special thanks to Michael for bringing two small furniture rollers since that help shorten the distance we had to carry stuff. Here is the updated setup. Coral is still tiny in size since I did a complete tank reset in September 2025 as I made a switch to SPS dominant tank:

it was great meeting you Nathan.. tank looks great! Hope you were able to resuce the wrasse from the discarded tank!
Thank you Sameer for finding the Adorned Wrasse who was laying in a thin layer of sand and water of the old tank as it sat on the curb ready for disposal. Despite laying there in the sun for over an hour, the wrasse made it back to the tank and is doing great

Looks great. Are these the Straton X?

Yes, these are the new Straton X. I have as lucky enough to be online when they became available in the US. The first batch sold out after a few hours but should be widely available at some point. The lights output a beautiful spectrum and an insanity level of par (eg, 1150 PAR just under the water surface when mounted 10 inches above the water and running at 60%). Some areas of my sandbed get over 300 par!

Nice, congrats! I only know folks who love them.
