New Herbie .. Old Tank

Need some advice.

The water line of the tank will be at the slots for the weare box.

But what is the ideal water line inside the weare box?1- 2” bellow the tank water line? Because once I have the weare box water line I can cut the emergency drain and then measure out the herbie. Which BRS says the Herbie should be about 2” below the weare box water line.

Also I learned my weare box holds 5 gallons of water and doesn’t leak.

One more question, should I place a foam mat between the tank and the stand?

Main drain low enough it won’t suck air. Second drain sets the water height. Close to the top of the box, but doesn’t really matter that much
