Recently launched a service business and have been working to on driving sales and finding hires.

Long shot, but I was curious if anyone is part of other groups/clubs worth checking out that business owners are utilising to tackle things like that.

What's the Bussiness type maybe some here are doing it or knows someone doing it. It's a bit vague the term service Bussiness.

I was just being cautious. Sometimes there rules against business related things.

In-home senior care, largely non medical currently.
All good, understandable. As long as it isn't something illegal or obscenely immoral. I don't think any here would mind at all.

I've previously worked for in home support services a county based agency in San mateo several years ago. I also cooked at a retirement home for former catholic preist for a few years. Sadly I was just a worker so no inside knowledge or experience in such a specific venture especially from a business point of view.

Yet I could share insights in general terms of how to interact with people.

Edit: In hindsight you would likely want some type of expert to do a risk/;potential liability assessment on your behalf. To arrange for proper insurance and liability coverage. Countless ways to get sued here. So you wanna make sure your covered for even some remote and unlikely possibilities. With insurance and whatever contracts you elect to use.

Forming a LLC at the minimum would offer some protection for your personal assets in any case. It might be wise to inqure from a legal professional on this subject as well.

In such a field training would also be a must for yourself and any one you were to employ.

Having some type of general emergency response list such as if this Happens follow these steps. Make sure client is in safe location, call police or have someone else call police while you remain with them, than call this person. Only a example here. Little things I recall from when I worked in those places.

If you haven't yet looked into joining your local chamber of commerce? Normally several social business mixer events for networking through the year. I was part of Pleasantons which worked out nicely in the past..
Good luck

Thanks, I have met with Los Gatos and San Jose so far.

I felt I was missing something because, for instance, Los Gatos said they have like three events a year. It was a steep membership fee and then you still have a per event fee that varied based on tier.

Maybe my expectations were wrong that there would be more consistent events. Either way, I am still researching what they offer before I pick one.
