Thank you very much - the person I am working with from airwaterice.com mentioned this, but it still did not seem to fit from how I measured it.FYI, a pressure tank can be stored on its side. Just throwing that out there in case that makes the room under your cabinet a little more doable.
I've installed a lot of RO filters over the years for customers. Lots of times I can just take apart the disposable and slide it back behind there. It's a bit of a PITA to access but it works.
I don't know how handy you are.
I don't know if that helps you in your case, but figured I'd give you that information in case you weren't sure.
Also, adding a spout to your sink is easy. If you don't have any knockouts you can literally drill it just like you would an aquarium. Same diamond bit and everything provided. You have a ceramic sink with a cast iron base. Metal ones you could probably just do with a bi-metal hole saw.
However, when it turned out that a pressure tank is the ONLY way to get decent water flow, I just asked him to send the smallest one (2.2 gallons), and I was able to even be placed upright under the sink.
This should answer your question on how handy I am. On a scale from 1-10, I would give myself a (minus) 10...
I already had a water filtration installed before that with a separate spout for which we used the soap dispenser opening.
This is how the water flows now:
Also, the pressure pump had to be removed since the pressure out of the supply line was already almost 60 PSI.
The two things that bothered me (big time) with getting to this point were the following:
1. The owner Chris seems to be in the water filtration for 40 years (apparently). I have no clue about this topic other than what I learned over the past 3 years from what we needed for our tanks.
He should have never accepted that I ordered his several hundred dollar RO system without a pressure tank. The flow is just unacceptable and it makes absolutely no sense to not mention this to your customer - I had been in a lot of back-and-forth emails before ordering.
2. The second is that he recommended ordering a pressure pump without asking me what my water pressure under the sink is. He assumed it was the same as for the RODI I ordered from him, which is connected to a toilet supply water in one of our bathrooms. This was a not-needed purchase, and I would always recommend first testing the pressure before buying this.
Overall, this is the second time I ordered from them (Neptune RODI and watercop RO system), as they seemed to have a great reputation. However, the advice he provided along the way before and after both purchases seemed often misleading, not addressing the issue or actually not understanding the issue. It could have been me not being clear on communicating the issue, but by re-looking at what I wrote and what he responded, I do not know what I could have done differently.
Therefore, I do not recommend ordering from airwaterice.com unless you know 100% what you need and what you are doing, and do not rely on them to help you before or after the purchase
