I found this to be a very interesting

I’ve noticed a lot of things go up in price… by a lot. Went to go buy another IM Helios heater, same one I bought in Feb for $262 is now $315. IM blamed price increase on tariffs. Do you guys think once this whole tariff thing is over, prices will go back down? I have a feeling most companies will just remain the same and enjoy the extra profit…

Probably comes down to if people are willing to pay that amount in same rates as before. Either lack of customers will force them to sale at a lost. Or nothing will change for them and they will make more money.

Taking the logic that this will possibly be effecting things across the board, pay remaining the same especially cause businesses having to pay higher for supplies as well. Lowers the possibility of them paying people more. So I would expect people to spend less. If this lasts for a significant amount of time. Sooner or later things will level out. I won't join the club saying this is the end of the world. Yet things will be different for sure. Not all businesses may survive it.

In a perfect world it would level out the playing feild causing american industry to step up with more equal prices verse cheap overseas products. Could be a golden age for the country if it works that way. Lol so many possibilites so best to sit back eat popcorn and dee what happens. I'm not loosing any sleep over any of it.

Definitely ain’t coming back down unless their sales come to a halt because of the price increase

Funny how after I posted my last post I reached out to the guys at Acrylic Pros in Anaheim asking about a tank and they said add 20% to price listed due to tariffs :( The bad thing is, people including myself will keep buying so I don’t think they’d come down.

We already have experience regarding of the rate at which retail prices go up vs down as the wholesale cost to the retailer varies. Gas prices are the classic example. When there is some world event that raises gas prices, they all raise overnight because it’s costing them more, but also because they have cover from upset customers to do so. When the wholesale prices comes back down it’s usually quieter, and retailers react slowly to lower their retail prices. And only when customers punish them for not doing so by going to a competitor who is lowering. Usually not to where they were before, a little bit of a ratchet effect.

So the bottom line is that prices go up fast and come back down slowly if they do. And they only do when customers vote for it with their dollars.

We are saved tho! The orange one has reached a deal!!!! Until he changes his mind and does something else dumb

And even still, its at 30% across the board, but, if you look at actual tariff codes for items, some have a tariff on them bringing them higher then the 30% base.

I haven't looked at aquarium equipment yet, but I have looked at tooling and there are so many that are higher then the base.

Wonder how many found out before today and are raking it in right now with the rally of wall street.

We are in the middle of bluff, bluster, and negotiate mode. Today isn’t a good day to buy but maybe tomorrow will be.

The blatant stock price manipulations and signaling ahead of time on Truth Social is special. It’s the only reason to follow him if you can stomach it. Good thing he has 100% immunity. In the past day Chinese import related companies are back up and Pharma is way down. Though I haven’t checked since this morning, it could be the opposite already again.

I do some consulting on the side these days and people ask about planning for the tariffs. I always tell them to wait 30 minutes and things might change. They seem to change faster than the weather out here.

Just checking once won't help, 10 seconds later, its a different story

One of my vendors has a ton of US stock. They're simply holding off until stock is depleted before they deal with it. I wish more would follow this
