If you had originally setup up notifications, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, you may have set it up to send notifications of any new posts.

This is before the email notification thing went kerplowy in the sky.

Err, in all honestly I don't really know. :) I think we have just had some weird ISP issues and I've spent a while recently making sure everything is in shape permission wise etc. and along with fixing the attachment issues, emails started working.

I did reset the password for the SMTP server in the Admin panel, but I think it was already correct!

No, I love Dave for getting a feature I find helpful to work. I love you for not being able to figure out that you can turn the feature off.
 
Nope I love Dave because I've been bugging Rich about this last year, and we couldn't figure it out.

It's easier to turn off the email notification than having to log onto the webpage. Hey, it's more stealth for me at work :D
