What is this nuisance?

Hi Folks,

Can anyone ID this for me? It started growing on some rocks and has started to spread more than I like.

I had these in my pico, they actually got some REALLY nice color to them. You can just scrub them down with a toothbrush if you don't want them. They never bothered anything in my little tank. Quite cool actually.

I can't find the exact name, matter of fact I don't think I ever fully figured out what they were.
 
Thanks folks. I am going to try to kill them. I have ripped some out before, but wasn't sure if there was a better way. I don't want them there because they do affect the corals and prevent corals from occupying the space.
 
If you can live without the rock...remove it
You could dry out he rock...thus killing the beasts
Or a coarse or wire brush
Get them out, they will sting and kill the things you buy and want!
