Yes there are different taste/flavor figs, from honey taste, berry flavor, soury to fruit punch. For instance cherry cordial taste like cherries which they do! Strawberry verte fig is similar to strawberries. Rare ones aren’t easy to grow, the rare ones are like sps tenius of the fig world, get stress easily or harder to root than others. Some more susceptible to disease and die. Cuttings aren’t cheap, ranging from $5-$50 depending on variety/rarity per cutting (6-8 inches with 2-3 nodes)
Figs Cuttings are like frags, clones of the fig. If you grow seeds from the fig will be a different fig from mother and father tree. For instance fig plant from seed are like tank spawned torches, they are different genetics from their mother and father. Fig trees can be male or female, only female figs are edible, but there’s some edible male but they aren’t as good as females. Male figs are usually dry.

I got into gardening when I was smaller. Took some cuttings from trees I was walking by, bought some seeds, I thought i was really into it
Turns out I was a casual
Is fig collecting that big of a hobby? Closest I got to that amount of “special tree” is my current quest to get some Butano ridge cypress seeds
I have really been upping my houseplant game lately. Ever since @Kensington Reefer gave me an Alocasia and coleus, I’ve been adding to my indoor garden big time.
Now I’ve got a greenhouse cabinet, a begonia and Hoya collection, and a ton of propagations going. Some aroids on moss poles too.
If anyone wants to trade plants let me know!!
