I bought the frag about 8 months ago (Jan 2025), it was pretty small. I have some tanks shot that you can kind of see its progression. It is in the middle of the tank. First picture is 1-2 months after and second picture is 4-5months.
Yellow tang is now in a 120g now, for the tang polices lol

So I talked with cultivated reef and Keith from reef bum got back to me….both said it’s just a standard pink birdsnest. Idk how or what’s going on but those images never look like what I’ve seen in person.
Could it be a situation where they’re both considered standard pink birdsnest?
They're probably just using "birdsnest" as a catch all term for seriatopora. What we're looking for is probably not s. hystrix which is very thin and wiry. I'm more interested in s. stellata which has longer and thicker branches, or s. caliendrum which has the blunt tips.

S. Calliendrum def looks more like it.They're probably just using "birdsnest" as a catch all term for seriatopora. What we're looking for is probably not s. hystrix which is very thin and wiry.
