I’d be happy to jump in to get some
Pitho crabs if they have any at the moment.
I was going to get them myself but the shipping for 3 crabs is prohibitively expensive -and 10 would be pure chaos!

I have an extra pitho from my order from salty bottom I just got today if you want one to try

where are you located @Darkxerox? I have one already who can’t climb the rocks.. useless!
the other died some time ago. That one was great though

I'm in Oakland but I won't be home until late tonight and I have to acclimate these guys since they're still in my trunk so maybe tomorrow

If anyone want's to order something add the number with what you are looking to get and I will see if we have sufficient to place an order.

Is the group buy restricted to priority mail shipping or can we get the asterisk-marked items too?
From what I see I think items that are marked with * you need to buy UPS next day shipping. And you can see the price here. UPS Next Day Air( $44.50)
Non asterix items you can get them the regular way. If we spend over $75 we get free shipping. Priority Mail (2-3 Days)

@glee Mentioned about this website: https://reeftopia.com/collections/marine-snails they have better prices for hermit and from emerald crab from what I see but we need to spend $149 to get free shipping

Anybody else that wants to get something from: https://reeftopia.com/collections/marine-snails
Let me see how many other ppl wanna get something
So far we have this
$21 Emerald Crab - Mithrax sculptus @Alexx
$28 Blue Leg Hermit Crab, Small - Clibanarius tricolor - 100 Lot @glee

Maybe you guys see something else on that website that you might want to buy. If you don't like https://reeftopia.com/collections/marine-snails maybe well get it from https://www.reefcleaners.org/aquarium-store/tank-cleaners website since they have more options.

Please post what you want and your order total so we see what we have in total.

If you go with reeftopia.com, please add 12 cerith snails ($15), sea urchin, pincushion - L. variegatus (4 Lot - $32), and shaving brush plant - Penicilus sp. (3 Lot - $12)

not thread hijacking, but we had some recent threads on the invert QT topic. I had a shipment of inverts from RC give my tank ich, so it's not overly paranoid to QT them IMO.

My understanding is urchins can't transmit ich (nor presumably other encapsulating parasites). The almost direct-from-ocean, near-to-the-US sources, theoretically exacerbate the risk because the less time they spend in transport, the less time parasites have to die.

Can you give me the thread . I would love to learn how to Qurantine inverts.

I'd have to dig around, but I think https://www.bareefers.org/forum/threads/qt-2-the-invert-quarantine-tank.31585/ had a variety of discussion.

The actual act of QTing them is straightforward. You can't use many(most?) chemicals, so the main go to is put them in a holding tank and occasionally feed various algaes if needed (eg seaweed).

I personally have a 10 gallon I keep for random purposes, and if I'm concerned I'll toss them in there, let them stay for a bit, and then pull them and toss them in. The real QT period is many weeks, but I definitely don't do that.

Anyway, don't want to start a thread hijack. Other thread might be better or a new one.

Ok I want to do a quick update.
Me and @phc567 will place an order to:
https://reeftopia.com/ if we can get 10 peppermint shrimp in the order.
We should be over $75 to get the free shipping. If anybody else wants anything over there put your username, link with what you want, and the quantity. And I will do a venmmo request once I place the order.
I plan to place the order on Friday 07/28/2023.
I will get some emerald crabs and some snails maybe. Hopefully I get rid of some bubble algae.

I live close to SF State so you can come to get the order once it will get here.
