Generator Gas

Bought the Kragen generator months ago, but have never even tested it. Always afraid that the gas would go bad and ruin the carb, if left in the gas tank for an extended period of time. Is there a gas preservative you add to the gas and then run the carb out of gas and leave gas in the tank without problems?

Go to Kragen/Autozone and buy gas stabilizer.

For certain add the gas stabilizer but even then it's only good for about a year. You need to circulate it. Everyonce in a while poor a can in your car to use and refill with fresh gas and a round of gas stabilizer.

I had some gas sitting in my generator for a year now and was wondering if it would still run with this old gas. I tried and it did with no problems. The two gas cannisters I have in the garage for emergency do get new gas every couple months. I just fill up my truck and put new gas in the cannisters. I have maybe half a gallon of gas in the generator so I figure once I really need it I pour in the good gas and it will mix.
