Loud Durso

I changed around my sump and the drain pipe has gotten really loud. It now drops straight into the sump and the end of the pipe is now under water. Before it was a free fall into the water. The durso was gurgling a lot so I increased the whole size in the cap to 5/16. There is a lt of bubbling noise from the sump. How do you eliminate the air noise? Thanks

Try adding some pvc pieces to create a vent in the line below the tank before it enters the water.

The idea is to let the air out so that the water enters the sump smoothly instead of with a lot of entrained air that will splash and gurgle.

It also can help if you do. horizontal portion in the drain to give the water and air a chance to separate.

Oh, and large diameter pipe.
