Tank mover recommendations?

Anyone know any local movers experienced in big fish tanks?
I am in Union City, but doubt it needs to be that local.

I will be getting a new big 250 gallon tank. :)
It is upwards of 350 pounds. :(

What I really want is some aquarium specialist movers to go get it at Truvu, inspect, and deliver.
I emailed a couple of the local aquarium service companies, but no response.
And hard to find a complete list.

I can go the more usual route of shipping company / impose on friends of course, but I would rather not.

Im going to guess that Max and his crew are equipped to and have done that.
With any place you go through, make sure they are insured incase the move goes poorly.

You just need help moving a new empty acrylic tank? I think Max at Mermaid in SJ can do that or maybe even Daniel who took over the service accounts from Ocean Treasures in SF can do that, but the store side is shut down.

Sorry, new here. No idea who Max and crew are.
Mermaid does not seem to exist anymore. But looks like it is "THE AQUARIUM SHOWROOM" now.
Hope that is the same place. I will give them a try.
Thanks. -Mark

Great.
Looks like they make tanks as well. I will get a full quote.
I was assuming Truvu, but mostly because that is what I have already.
Thanks, -Mark

I don't think Chris (Max's builder) builds tanks that large but it won't hurt to ask.

Max has a few sources for tanks, TruVu (BAR sponsor ), Kritter (Gen, BAR sponsor ) and some non local ones.

i asked Max to custom build me a tank not too long ago. He was the one who introduced me to the CAD lights tank. Last i talked to him he was making sumps, but nothing AFA tanks go. If you need a stand, i can tell you Max is the guy to go to. :D

That's odd as he's made numerous sumps now which are not much different then making tanks. He's also been telling me for years now how he wants to get into both acrylic and glass tank manufacturing. I've seen some sumps done by Chris and the work is excellent. I've also seen some tank repairs done by Chris which were unreal, insane workmanship!

Well, I filled out Max's fancy web form. We shall see if they get back to me.
I am building my own stand, so might not be a good match.

Very odd in this economy, but after lots of tries, nobody seems to want my money.

I am getting closer and closer to just building it myself. Plywood/Acrylic mix.
Saves a fair bit of money, but I thought it was not worth the hassle.
But after all this, maybe it is.

Calling is by far best as his web guy doesn't always get back in a timely manor.

I'm sure both Gen at Kritter Products and Scott at TruVu would be more then willing to build you a tank :)

Well, looks like Atlantis Aquarium will get it all done for me.
Now I just have to decide between Truvu and Kritter. It was easier when I had never heard of Kritter.

Many thanks for all the info everyone!
And the detail. Nothing like getting first names.

Now I have to write that big check. Which of course, is just the start.

TruVu will have been in business for 40 years when I turn 40 in a few years
