Cali Kid Corals

What is this white stuff?

I'm in the process of moving a few live rocks over to the display tank, almost all my corals have died. Yup basically lost everything due to the temp tank not being good enough, and another issue I will not bring up publicly.

Anyway this is my last coral, and it now has this crappy white stuff growing on it. IS this something I need to worry about getting into my new tank?

Good. Snot like would be a bad sign.
My guess would be a sponge or a tunicate. Generally not a concern.
wetwebmedia has lots of pictures and information on both. You might find a match.

This might not be the most conclusive answer but I've seen a ball of white snot form around something after it dies and sits there for a while and begins to deteriorate.

Why is 'snot-like' bad? What would that indicate?
Thanks in advance for the info.

I was mostly thinking Brown Jelly disease, but looking more at pictures, not really a match at all.
There is also a "white reef slime" that looks similar. But I think that is super rare.
Both are bacterial slimes, hence the snot like appearance/feel.
