Help me design the perfect hood.

V. Depending what you mount in the canopy and the material that you use. If you only have couple MH setup and T5s, I don't really think it's that heavy. Use a thicker/heavier material for the sides and the frame would help holding the canopy down when you lift the top. Maybe best to move the top hinge toward the front a little bit but not in the middle. That will give you a lot of room to work on the tank.
 
I'll take a pic of my excellent hood when I get home, then I'll show off the "useless hinge" that I made. It's hard to explain.

Also, my hood just looks like a black box, so it's not very exciting, but then it doesn't detract from the beauty of my aiptasia farm either.
