Interesting, but rather complex and expensive.

Personally, I prefer a "settling zone" in my sump where detritus accumulates,
then can be siphoned out easily.

What if you go away for more than one day? Or get tired of having to bleach socks weekly. It’s sort of like having an auto top off. Reduces the daily labor.
