The "Legend" of TubeRider's Looong Journey.

Episode II Part 2
The life cube is taking shape, Its going to "Be Alive"

Overflow will have egg crate holders on top for less water restriction.

Top will have metal embedded into the braces after the tank has taken shape.

Is that what you did for my tank?
I advise against it. Very noisy waterfall. I took them out.
A variation on that worked though.
I put a screen on the outside of the overflow, same color as overflow.
I used gutter plastic mesh, but egg crate would likely work also.
It shows a bit, but not much.
There is a picture on my build thread somewhere.
On the inside, I rounded over the overflow, for laminar flow down the sides. As long as you
keep the distance less than about 4", it is nearly dead silent.

Thanks M, the mission is to improve and evolve. I once saw my customer use marbles in the o/f, it was dead silent.... a jungle plant guy. The plants would gas O2 and would take over in one week unless trimmed back!

I defy you to give me a setup I cannot make silent. I have tanks in peoples bedrooms, offices all kinds of places where there's to be no sound, all it takes is an open mind ;)

Challenge accepted (hoping you can help) mine is a little loud. We extended the drain pipe down under the water level to try and reduce the noise there, I think it helped. The main problem seems to be the gurgling from the drain in the overflow, it's shaped kind of like an upside down U with a drain basket on the end.

Pics please ;)

sounds like it needs a siphon break or to be tuned better (adjusted up or down). picture is worth a thousands posts (that lack photos)..

Make my sea swirls stop clicking!

Also, awesome progress, this is a cool build. Looking forward to seeing how the flow problems are solved.

I enjoyed fixing my pets so much I opted to have it done on myself!

You are right! It's a BLAST, and you can make people say whatever you want!

All in fun, of course. :D

The tank doesn't even have water in it yet. Care to guess what is going into the tank? Type of rock work?

The tank is not going to be a Acro forest
